I'm of the opinion that symantec/norton products are as invasive and pernicious as the virii and malware they purport to protect their users from. This reinforces that view.

I can't believe this has only just been uncovered?
I've known for _years_ that Norton AV and all their other guff used kernel hooking. That's why I've always advised against using their security software.
