Hi all,
I've got a 2003 SBS Server running Veritas 9.1 (patched with service pack 5 and the latest tape drivers). It's also got a Quantum Certance LTO-2 external tape drive, linked into the system by an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card.
Veritas picks all the hardware etc up fine, but isn't performing. I've setup a full backup of the system (around 50GB), but Veritas just writes 19,000 bytes and stops, saying it has finished. A test run of the same job shows that over 50,000,000,000 bytes are written.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Even a tiny backup job of around 5MB gives similar results (albeit with proportionally lower byte counts).
Edit: with the VSS service stopped, i get the following error: "A failure occurred accessing the Writer metadata". If i start VSS, i get the situation outlined above
Cheers,
Matt
