Hi,
Got a strange one here and wondered if anyone could shed some light?
I have a HP Probook 4510s with an intermittent touchpad, basically it will suddenly stop working whilst using it and the only way to bring it back is to either restart or even better hit the windows key and L key to switch user, but even then it can die within seconds but other times it'll be fine for quite a while.
I have tried running the touchpad without the synaptics driver and rather then dying, it litterally spacks out, dancing all over the screen and clicking as soon as you try to scroll! I have tried the latest drivers, performed a BIOS upgrade to the latest version, tried a hard reset by taking the battery out and dissconecting it from the mains and then holding the power button down for a while. And most annoyingly, I formatted it and put 7 back on.
Any ideas before I send it back to HP? Providing I can actually contact them!
