i have a friend who is a total moron, even putting files in drop box it too complex for him...

is there a sure fire way / apple way to sync documents / folders on two mac machines with the user doing nothing other than their normal saving files / usual location?

only needs to be documents

Surely just installing Dropbox then telling him to only ever save files in the Dropbox folder is simple?

Some other services will allow you to select folders outside of the default, however Dropbox's sync features and reliability would make it my service of choice (unless of course he needs more storage).

Could play around with symlinks and Dropbox, however I'd not want to do that on the system of someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

well i did tell him to use drop box, i really wanted to check there was not an apple feature that just synced two machines together... if there is no it will haveto be drop box...

lan based solution would be a headache to manage. Best left to network enthusiasts who love to "bring work home" and muck around with that stuff on their spare time. Cloud services are cheap and the simplest solution is to use a cloud solution to sync folders.
