This gets asked a lot in different places but I have never come across a solid answer so I'm going to put it up here to see if any of you lovely people know the proper solution 
If I wanted to sync my iPhone with a new computer, and wanted to maintain all apps including their app data including icon layout etc - how would I go about this? I know I have to wave goodbye to the media content but thats completely fine for now but I certainly wouldn't want to lose my savegames etc etc...
Anyone know? I used to think Authorising the computer then plugging in the iPhone and clicking "Transfer Purchases" did the trick but that seems to give very sporadic results...
(I'm asking because I want to sync to my MBA and wont be in the office for a good few days which is where I've previously synced...)
