Im looking for an application to Sync my music on my laptop to my NAS where I have my whole music library.
So for instance I purchase a new song through iTunes, I want it to copy over to my music folder on my NAS so that my TV and other devices can use it too.

The NAS is super basic, and all the back or sync tools I tried keeps putting the files in Zip or not copying everything, or puts it in some other backup extension.

Im looking for some small application that I can make run each night or once a week to just look for changes and copy them over to the NAS.

It should be pretty basic as its not for the most technically advanced person.

Thanks in advance.

free and built into windows -> robocopy

if you create a file called syncmusic.bat and stick the lines below in it
you just edit your folder location paths to what u use then save it back and double click it

ROBOCOPY.EXE c:\music_folder \\nas\music_folder /S /MIR
pause

Awesome thanks for this :)

Do I just need to run the .bat each time I purchase music?

If you want it to keep everything in sync yes , but it will only update and add new files not re-copy everything

Warning tho , this makes both folder exactly equal
If you delete something in the source folder and u then sync it will delete it in the detination one as well

Microsoft Synctoy. Gives you a couple of options for which way you want to sync. Really quick and nice to use. I use it to keep my music/pics/video/docs files in syn with the nas. Nice clean interface. Only downside is no scheduled backups, you ahve to manually run it each time but no bother.
