Sync speed dropped by 3/4

Recently (about the last week), I have been experiencing reduced download speeds and increased latency in games such as Half life 2. I tried rebooting, changing my micro-filters and testing it on the other computers i have, all of which did not improve the issue. I have also tried re-flashing the firmware on my router (DG834G v3), and plugging in to the faceplate at the point where my telephone line enters the house.

Previously my router could sync at a reported 'DownStream Connection Speed' of about 4000 kbs, however now it can only manage 1146 kbps. This value is the same no matter what time of day i try to re-sync.

What the funk is going on ?

Posting the statistics (SNR margin, attenuation, sync rate) from your router would be a start.

Changing the machine the router's connected to isn't going to change anything.

I believe Pipex are migrating everyone onto Tiscali platform so could be that?!?

It's because your downstream SNR margin's up at 21dB - the default target is 6dB, and the more it increases the lower your sync rate has to be to make up for it.
It's possible Tiscali have buggered something up though.
