ok so i came on here about 2 weeks ago and was usggested to try sync toy to sync folders from pc to laptop, which worked the first time, 2nd time i went to use it sync toy had no folders synced so had to restart from fresh, now it keeps getting so far into sync'ing and then says program failed needs to close down.

any ideas what could be wrong?
is there any other program like sync toy i can use?

if the files are not too big, you could try using dropbox

automatic sync using the internet, tis very good.

Been using Synctoy x64 v2 under Vista since it was released, not had any problems at all. It is a bit slow to sync considering the amount of files I backup (not many), but I guess that's because I've got "check file contents" on.

Hmm might test Synctoy 2 again, see what happens this time.

Synctoy won't copy files that are in use BTW - I'm guessing the problem 'pirate' posted was due to files being in use.
Just tried Synctoy and again all the updates to be made on an echo basis failed. Had 219 updates to make and they all failed. Winamp was running so I closed that and retried. Same result. Something fishy going on. Might just unpack Robocopy and try that. Could just knock up a little batch file and shortcut to it on the desktop and run it whenever I add new music to my folder.

Are you trying to copy to an external HDD? I found out why my Robocopy script kept saying "Access denied" on any files I wanted to copy. It wasn't the source files that was the problem. Weirdly I didn't have fully permissions on the external HDD so I made sure I did and lo and behold Robocopy sprang into life. Haven't tested Synctoy yet but I wouldn't mind betting it'll work now.

Will re-install Synctoy now and see if it works and let you know. :)

Because I ran Robocopy this morning no files need to be created but some folders did and Synctoy made those without any problems. Think I've found the solution to my problem. :)
