So I have found a handset I want to switch too from IOS. My Mrs will and wants to stick with IOS and I love my ipad. All our family stuff is on IOS calendar and synced between us. I no longer see the point of me spending £500+ on a handset to send a few texts, whatapp messages, listen to podcasts and a bit of navigation software 
The only thing holding me off buying an android phone now is the calendar. Is there anyway to use a calendar on android and sync up with the one I will have on icloud and on my ipad?
