Hi, wonder if anyone knows the answer to this one.

I have a home network with 2/3 computers on it, one being a laptop for when I am out etc.

Now I use Microsoft Outlook for all my emails and sometimes retrieve them either on the main big pc or sometimes on the laptop.

Is there are a way of synching (sp) them up as I have a lot of folders i put certain emails into when ithey arrived,

Like Family, John, Paul, work, Hobbies etc.

Just wondered, maybe there is not, who knows, but thought i could ask.

Would be nice for them all to be on each machine so access is straight forward. Sometimes you are looking for one email only to find out it is on another PC

Thank you

Not exactly 'Syncing' but I've found having Outlook Express/Thunderbird/etc leave the mail messages on the server until I delete or after 1-7-days very useful (& life saving after accidentally deleting important e-mails) ;) This is several web-mail accounts meaning that I can access the messages from actual website (e.g. Yahoo! Mail) or another machine/software with my account :)

Haven't used Outlook/Outlook Express in ages now (use Thunderbird), but I think you should find it under account properties/settings, the last/advanced tab ;)

Hi

Yes you can set outlook to leave messages on the server as well. If you are using Outlook 2003 follow these instructions

Go to the Tools menu in change existing mail account is selected and click Next.
Highlight the email account you want to change the setting on and then click on the Change button on the right.
Click on the Advanced Options button and then click on the Advanced Tab along the top.
On the Advanced screen at the bottom you will have options for leave messgaes on the server with sub options for so many days or when deleted. I would suggest setting it to so many days and I think the defaults is 10 days.

Also it might be worth asking your ISP is the provide IMAP mail as that will work better than POP3.

hope that helps

You could always set up the mail Inbox (the .pst file where all your mail goes to) on a network shared file, and point Outlook on all machines to that share!... I can't remember how at the mo (I just know you can as I've done it in tha past!) , then what ever machine you download emails on they will go into this shares box, and next time you boot up a different machine it'll see the new mails!...

I'll have a look and get back later!.... :)
