Hey guys

I bought an old Xbox 360 (original one) from my mate at work for £30. Its for my son who is 8. Anyway the Xbox and pad worked fine, then he took his pad to his mates house and sync'd it to his mates xbox.

Now I'm trying to link it back to his xbox, but it's not working.

I press the sync button on the console and nothing happens, the ring doesnt light up or anything! Should the ring on the console flash like the pad does when you press the sync button on the controller?

I have removed the front panel to the xbox and pressed the button directly, but it still doesnt work. Have I got a knackered xbox which has a broken sync button?

Also if i get a cable can I sync it with the USB Xbox 360 cable without using the sync button? Then unplug the cable and will the pad remain working wirelessly?

I will have to buy him one.

He is doing my nut in cos he has COD: BO to play which he bought today and cannot play it!

Yeah, done that, the lights flash round on the pad - but pressing the sync button on the xbox doesnt seem to engage the sync on the console.

Should the rings flash on the console when pressing the sync button on the console?

Button is broken then :( I have removed the front fasca and used a match to press the button in and still no joy.

Is your TV on whilst you're trying to sync? I had the same problem and it wouldn't work until the display was on - bizarre.

Also if the button sticks on the pad you can get some funky behavior. I've had that with the pad that I had to repair after some Battlefield rage :o
