or is it something completely different. If its the former surely this is going to be the best game ever known to man ? The original syndicate was such a rocking game for its time...........

Its a fps, has the lore of the original Syndicate I believe but little else to do with that game.

Its been out for a while, its an Origin only game and like EA, it sucks ass apparently. Not played it myself, but I might when its available for a bargain basement price of around £3.
