So with W7, if you attempt to install it to run at system boot it connects but doesn't transmit mouse movements. Having read around I believe this is caused by the service not running as an administrator, and administrator services take mouse preference or something along those lines.

Has anyone successfully managed to get round this and run synergyc as an administrator service on boot? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

i'm running synergy - earlier (when i had UAC on) and now (when i don't). works fine apart from the UAC prompts on the slave PC. dont remember if runnig the prog as an admin made a diff since UAC has been off for a while

But working on the login screen though though? It works fine when I launch it on the desktop. This kind of defeats the purpose of running synergy in the first place, if I have to keep a kb/mouse plugged in.

ah, no. i left the kb plugged in for the ocassional use. to be fair though, i always set it to hibernate so a tap of the kb and it's in windows ready to go.

This it turns out is now listed as a bug on the 'synergy plus' Google code site. It's some kind of UAC related thing and happened in vista too. Fix in the not too distant future I hope.
