I am curently looking to invest in a RAID5 NAS solution for my home network, I have been looking at several different models and stumbled across the Synology Disk Station DS410J - it has seemed to get decent reviews and is a very good price, has anyone used/owned this?

I would like to get peoples thoughts before I buy - Thanks in advance.

I've got the 2 disk version (my bro has the 4 disk one above) and it rocks. Very good admin/config page - i.e. stable, clear, loads of options and is updated frequently by the manufacturer.

They are not cheap but highly recommend them for home/small office set up.

Thanks for the feedback, I personally think that for the level of RAID if offer it represents good value compared to some of the other NAS units on the market e.g. NETGEAR ReadyNAS

I'm after this also, I currently have a Drobo V2 DAS, and believe this is a good machine?

Any more thoughts from any more people on this?

Anyone know which would be the best 2TB drives for this, does the manufacture have a compatibility list?

Cheers

I put in 2 x Seagate 2TB drives and regret it - the clunk noise they make now and again is really annoying. Should have stuck to Samsungs again.
