Synology DS209 folder access

My mate has one of these and would like to give me access to one folder.

Is there a way of locking a user to a certain folder?

Been trying for hours and im beginning to think that it isn't possible, which is really sad for an FTP server

If your friend creates a new share, and copies the contents of the folder to the share he can do it. Not the most ideal solution.

There is a synology forum at www.synology.com where you may get better help.

ask your mate to setup a user account for you. assign folder rights to this account.
enable File Station. log in using the user account, and you will have access to the folders with Read and Read/Write only.
