Synology DS211J Help

Hey all,

I bought a Synology DS211J after being recommended to it by a few members of this forum.

I opened it up expecting to find a massive manual, but all I got was a disc and some cables - after a few hours of tinkering, I think I've sort of got the hang of it...

However, I'm trying to install SABnzbd+ on it - but have been unlucky Also it looks like the Synology forum is less than useless as I, as well as others, have had no replies for ages

I downloaded SABnzbd from:

http://www.mertymade.com/syno/

I downloaded the zip, unzipped and uploaded the .spk file to my DS211J.

It did its thing and I clicked Run. However, when I go to the IP address shown below it doesn't load anything - It just loads for about 2 minutes and says it took to long to respond (A sort of 404 page).

Any ideas on how to get this going?

Hi,

What is the response when you log on to the NAS via SSH or Telent and run the PS command on SAB*?

I have no idea how to do any of that

Sounds like it either hasn't started for some reason, or it has but on a different port to what you are putting in the browser.

Go to /YOURSHARE/@appstore/sab/SABnzbd/config.ini and have a look at what it is running on.

Where will I find that?

Hi Marky,

You're going to need some Linux / Unix command line knowledge to get SAB running properly.

I've taken a quick look over it - still pretty confused

Starting to wish I got a ReadyNAS now... They make it look a lot easier than this

I've got a 211j also.

Any reason why you're wanting to use SAB? I find the built in Download Station fine for nzbs.

SAB unzips the files whereas Download Station doesn't
