Synology DS916 + & DS410j - Options for DS410j Swap Out?

I have both of these devices, but use the DS916+ for most of my content due to it being much more powerful, modern and supporting better media streaming. However, the 916+ is 70% full so I am thinking off adding a Synology DS513 unit and moving the drives from the DS410j into that device and then dumping the DS410j.

Will this work or will I need to reformat the drives for the newer device?

Says if you have a DS410j that you should use Hyper backup to perform the migration.
