OK, we've got a slight problem with a 4 Disk Synology device.
It is attached to our domain.
We have created a top-level share on it.
To that top level share we have given permissions to two AD groups:
Domain Guests - No access
Domain Administrators - Full Access
Domain Users - Read Only Access
I attempt to copy a directory from a Windows server.
The folder in question has the rights:
domain\administrator - Full Access
domain\username - Full Access
If I copy this into the top-level share, it doesn't retain any of the permissions it had.
Instead it is given:
Local Synology NAS administrator - Full Access
Everyone - Read-Only.
Is there any way I can copy files from a Windows server to a Synology NAS and retain the permissions that were assigned on the Windows server?
