Always had this as a home media server and was wondering how easy it is to set up to watch elsewhere?

Looked into plex but I couldn't get that to work also would rather a free option is possible?

Thanks.

As far as I'm aware Plex can still be used, and use remotely on the free account? Other options include Jellyfin of course with no paid options.

Not sure if it's the same for the alternatives, I've used Plex for years and depending on your home network where the server will be based, it should just be a case of forwarding one port. Was it the port forwarding you had issues with?
I think so yes, I'm with three and it's a bit of a fiddle.

Is this Three's 5g home broadband?

If so, try going into your router's APN settings and change the mode to Manual, the profile to "Custom" and the PDP type from the default IPv4v6 to IPv4 (this is with the ZTE router, I presume the Zyxel will be similar). Also make sure the APN is "3internet" and not "three.co.uk" otherwise you'll probably be on CGNAT which will cause port forwarding issues.
I will give this a go when I have the chance, thanks
