hi guys

anyone know how to use sysprep properly

basically, i got a target machine with winXP SP2 pro (VLK), Office XP and media content (clipart) and McAfee Vsan 8.5. updated everything etc

sysprep it and shut down. make image with ghost bootable CD and save it on server 2003 with ghost multicast server

when restore the image to different machine (exactly same make and model as target machine)

boot up for the first time, enter XP VLK serial key then carry on to desktop. open MS Word or any office applications, its asks for to re-activate by using a file from Office XP CD.

i guess i'm doing somewhere wrong. how to create a perfect sysprep'd image that wont ask to re-activate the Office XP or asking for stupid small file from Office XP CD

thanks

wesley

Did you do a FULL install for Office XP, i seem to recall there being a small part that, if no installed, caused it to require the disk whenever a new profile was created.

yep, VLK for xp pro, office XP and publisher 2002

yes i selected "complete install" during the installation

Did you set it to run from 'My Computer' under custom installation when you installed Office when you created your image?
