So after finishing my build a few weeks back i just wanted to say thanks for all the advice pre-build and all help during it all went smoothly apart from the damn corrupt realtek drivers that messed me around for a while. System is so much faster now its great. So what i was wondering was how long will it be until i need to consider upgrading parts of my system, i mean until it really slows down and can't cope with newer games and programs. What part will need to be upgraded first, and how often do you lot upgrade mobos and processors. Spec below:

Antec 900

P5Q Pro

E8400 3.6 Ghz

Corsair VX450W

2x2GB 800 Mhz memory

Nvidia 9800GT

I used to upgrade my mobo/cpu once a year. cant really afford to do that now.

To be honest it depends what you're doing with it. Some people will say that system need upgrading now.

I imagine a lot of peeps would say if your gaming, your GPU could do with an upgrade.

No you'll be fine for at least a year, at which point it'd prob be gfx card that'll bottle neck your system first, upgrade that in a year and the rest should do your for 2-3 Id say

Tbh im not really a major gamer, games like warhead and farcry 2 look perfectly acceptable to me on my system but i spent more of my 500 quid on the cpu and mobo i skimped a little on the card but in 6 months or so i might splash out on a new one. :D
