I've got a problem with my PC< not had this problem with it at all. Basically I'm in Windows, WinAmp, MSN, IE running, a few conversations on the go, nothing realy stressing the system and say an hour or so, I'll get a blue screen and bang, PC has locked solid.
Running XP Pro with SP2 all the updates.
Hardware is :
Athlon 64 3200
Asrock Dual board
1 gig of OcUK Value RAM
ATI Radeon X800 GT PCI Express GFX card.
This is a very clean install of Windows as in it's only a few days old. Thought it would be a good idea to re-install from scratch becasue of the X800 GT I've put in. I did have a feeling possibly this could be at fault, but it's strange I can play a game for 3 hours solid and it's stable as you like. It's only when I'm hardly making the system work does this happen.
I've also just changed from IDE over to SATA and have a 60 gig Maxtor Drive in there, not a brand new drive, but ti formatted ok. Also a firewire card to run my Ipod.
Really pulling my hair out with this problem, so any help given would really help me out.
I'm not a total noob, have been building PC's for years just wanting a second opinion really.
This, at least to me appears to be more of a software problem more so than anything else.
