Hi,

You guys were great last time. I needed to spec a build for a friend, he has a budget around £300 to £400 if it is possible and the PC is mostly used for playing Battlegrounds.

He needs a case and probably PCI wifi I suspect too.

Could you give some guidance?

Cheers!

you will need a gpu with this anyways, but you be best getting a decent used one for the time being or get the ryzen APU which has a gpu near to gt1030, so should tie you over till finding a good gpu if you want all new components otherwise cracking older systems on used market.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £354.00 (includes shipping: £11.10)

At this price point 2nd hand is the best option. If its something you need without wait.. An optiplex i5 8gb ram and 1tb drive can be had on an auction site for around 150 notes. Add a 1050ti and you will play pubg at least.

If you are not in a hurry a much better system could be built waiting around for gumtree/facebook deals to pop up. Of course then you will have to trust the sellers and probably get no warranty but this is a low price point its going to get you the best performance!

Why R3 1200 when the R3 2200G exists and is the same price???

Agreed that second hand is probably best at this price point though, especially for such a demanding / badly optimised game.

If you can plug a KB and Mouse into a XBox that's probably going to be the only way to play PUBG at that price point if you can't source second hand bits.

I mean PUBG will run on very low end PC - buts it's not going to be great!

does he need a monitor too?
they do some half decent 2nd hand dell units on a certain auction site, just needs a video card.

Just to add, you could probably get something second hand for better and cheaper, but you can also upgrade this computer over time and comes with warranty

because of the tool kit or whatever it is i keep reading on here than you need to get ryzen APU working, plus as i stated they could choose a gpu used with the spare cash, but i also further mentioned the APU if they wanted all new parts, i just wasnt going to list it in the build as i was making an example, if the vega is just under a 1030 then it wont be good enough for pubg anyways, so they will need a better gpu.

second hand no point with new build and the performance you will get.will be close to xbox performance new.

if you pick up a older rig with some kind of older i7 then add a 1050ti.you should be pretty decent . pubg loves 16gb ram and a ssd.really changes the game.
