my money is in and all other debts are paid off, so I went looking at either taking the Ultima Tyrannosaur, or just max specing a system through the system configurator, but the 2600 isn't presented as an option for some reason, only the 980 :confused:

I thought it would be best to just get mostly the best specs that I can, not sure about SLI because of microstuttering but I'll be gaming at 1080p, not interested in 3D, so thought an i7 2600k overclocked with ridiculious amounts of ram, a SSD for boot/2-3 games and a 1-2TB hdd would be good, with most likely a 580. I was going to get a single 590 ( I know its dual GPU) but at least based on recommendations of a couple of guys they said it's still SLI and is going to have microstuttering problems, and they said a 580 would prob do me fine if im not interested in going above 1080p or using 3D.

system configurator check :

Intel 10200i Configurator - Extreme Gaming System, that has the option to upgrade to the i7-2600K.

24GB of RAM... what are you going to be using this thing for?

micro stuttering tends only becomes a problem @ low frame rates.

a multi card setup running a screen @ 1920x1080 is very unlikely to have low frame rates (except maybe in metro 2033)

If this is only a gaming rig the guys in here could spec you something a little more suited to the job, rather than hitting max on everything in system configurator!

what sort of budget would you be looking at ?

when you say not interested in 3d does that include other visual options like eyefinity ?

Budget isnt a concern. Any type of 3d monitor/glasses etc I have absolutley no interest in. I'll prob get a 37" LED 1080p screen and that will do nicely.

the eyefinity side of things doesnt relate to 3d/glasses but a number of screens setup to give a wider view.

if your happier with 1 screen fair enough, but might be worth a look around if you havent already to see what the sort of setup offers.

not trying to push you in any direction , just want to check you've considered things.

Oh right sorry. Nah Ive tried the multi monitor thing before. The gap between the monitors distracts me. Im more than happy with a single 37" screen running at 1080p :)
