Overclockers UK have listened to the feedback that we have been receiving and today we have launched the OcUK PC Builder.

Split into 4 sections;

Value - Primo Range - prices starting from £185.94
Media - Verso Range - prices from £381.92
Gamer - Gamer Range - prices from £527.42
Overclocked - Ultima Range - prices from £744.91
all prices exclude VAT.

Choose the range that suits your needs and price bracket, select from one of our pre-defined range, or customise your base product, to deliver the ultimate system for you.

I'd like to think that choice of case was an option in the future. The Antec Nine Hundred is a great all round case with lots of space to pack in loads of components but I recognise some people may have alternate tastes of look.

Some thing for our next stage of development

Thanks

Thanks for your comments - a few errors that we need to correct.

Please let me know anything else that you find

Cheers

Hi,

I sent an email to the pre sales email address before realising there was a thread about the changes, doh.

Anyway, there is a pricing error on one of your systems. The Ultima Extreme SLi 8800 GTX is priced at £432.36 inc VAT. Looks like it could be £1432.36 inc VAT?

Anyway thought I'd chime in and let you know. I like the way you are going with the configurator, I'm in the market for a new PC so I might just test it out.

Cas

Thanks for your note.

You are right, the system you speak of has been removed from sale.

On the Ultima OC 8800 GT Intel System the listed mobo is the Abit IP35 Pro Intel Chipset Motherboard, but the link takes you to the OcUK Value IP35 Pro Intel P35 (Socket 775)PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. Can you confirm which is correct please?

I will ask one of our Product Specialists to review this and correct

Thanks for your observation! :)

Have to agree with the picture of the item you are actually selecting. Surely it would'nt be that hard to get a little piccy up when you hover the cursor over the selection. Especially relevant with the memory choices as they all show Geil Ultra boxes.

A selection of motherboards would be good too on the Gamer and Overclocked versions.

How about a choice of no Floppy along with a reduction. The floppy is dead these days, with some bios's being around 2mb in size. USB stick is the way to go.

Good idea though and prices are'nt too bad.

Hi,

We see this as a a first stage solution to what we hope will be a leading edge configurator with all the usual high end choices that you would expect from OcUK.

Motherboards are however more complex as a choice due to their interelationship with so many other components.

Next stage will be to refine the costs (particularly on certain options) & broaden the range of high end options.

A cases and credit options will also be on the agenda for adding later.

Thanks for your comments.

Reason we are not using different cases yet, is because of shipping, its hard to sellect a case that looks, cools well, and ships ok. The Antec 900 ticks all boxes, we are currently looking into new cases and will be adding them soon.

Well said Tizor!

I think the P182 is probably next on the list, its large enough, good looks - doesn't cool as well as the Nine Hundred but we can use for the gamer range anyway.

Key issue with cases is getting enough of them often enough.

Would like to hear from all as to their views & choices on cases...

Cheers

Speaking as someone that is about to do a build myself (using parts sourced from OCUK of course) I did have a look at the pre-built systems, and to be honest, the one thing that put me off, was the case.. Especially on the value range, that little 'thing' is just ugly to me. Hence, I decided to build around the CM-690 Dominator.. A much more pleasing sight, and while it meant a slight increase in the overall cost. I can absorb that.

Speaking of cost, that's the other thing I noticed. Looking at the price points of each system, there is a large jump, from the value range, to the gamer range. Why is this important? because most of the people that I've spoken to, and from a cursory look around at the 'spec me a...' threads, many people are looking, towards that missing price point.. the ~£350 range (about which I've got quite a nice little setup to order next week)

Thanks for your comments - all taken on board!

The more that we can ensure our range suits all the better.
