I've had my Laptop (see spec in Sig) for about 6 years and it's done me proud!. But recently it's been very temperamental - Not turning on, Boot-up/Shut-down-boot-up/shut-down, and crashing (just 'pop off!). And now as of Yesterday it won't power up at all (just spins for 2 seconds and off when I press the power button).

So I've decided to build myself a new system (desktop) to replace it!... I've already bought the components (I parted with £332 in the Checkout at 7:10 this morning!!)... :)

Now onto the crux of this post... ;)

I bought a copy of Windows 7 64bit Home Premium OEM about 14 months ago to upgrade (fresh install) the Laptop from it's Hewlet Packard-bloated install of Vista 64bitHP...

Questions I have are these...

As the OEM copy was technically not the original OS on the Laptop, and the Laptop is now totally U/S (I'm pulling the HD and putting it in a USB enclosure, and I'm gonna sell the RAM) Can I install the Copy of 'Windows 7 64bit Home Premium OEM' I bought on my new system, with Little or no fuss???.

If I do need to phone Microsoft!, does anyone have a number I can phone that doesn't just get me through to 'Robot-Lady'!!.

Cheers
Sim :)

I can help you on the last point, if you do get through to "robot lady", bash *#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*# loads, it confuses the system and puts you straight through to a person.

Haha, this is true sometimes, let's hope the person on the other end is understandable.
