Hey guys! I opened the thread here because I'm not really sure what the problem is about, sorry if it's in a wrong section :)

I just built a system with:
i5 2500k
ASRock Z68 extreme4 gen3
corsair vengeance black 2x4gb
asus 560ti
ocz zs series 750w
2.5" 250gb wd caviar black (the laptop one)
Thermaltake Armor case

The problem is that it won't start. I built the system today and in the first tries it booted normal in the bios menu, stable voltages etc. I tried to install Windows with no success as (after creating the space) there was an error message about windows not being able to boot from my hd because I had to enable an option?
After that, I rebooted the system to boot to bios, but the system took about 5-8 seconds to start up after shutting down and it loaded an empty bios interface! I press the restart button, and it shuts down permanently :(
The PSU switch is on, the standoffs are all ok and the GPU has 2 leds working. I double checked the cables and the connections, I tried to boot from the motherboard's power switch, I tried the clear cmos button (it seemed to work as the GPU leds went off as the button was in) and clear cmos with battery, still nothing.
What do you think should be my next move? Should I hotwire my PSU to see if its working? Any advice welcome, i'm close to desperate with this machine :p

thanks in advance! :)
Mike!

hi again!

I finally found the problem to be that my hard drive was fitted literally ON the case with tie-wraps because I could not find any other place for a 2.5" hd and as long as they were touching (hd + case) the pc would not start, probably because of voltage leak like it happens with the standoffs?? Now it's up and running as it should! :)
