system failed cpu test

hi all, iv just come home and the kids pc isnt working. all that happens when you start the pc is a voice saying "system faild cpu test"

from what i can remember its asus or asrock a8v deluxe mobo 1gb ram. will get more info shortly

but what do you suggest i do/try

Reset cmos first, if not try reseating your CPU and HSF.

If that does not work could be a faulty board or cpu.

hi, iv just taken the battery out of the mobo and retried, no good. so iv taken the heatsink fan off and removed/replaced the cpu and still no joy.

i have lights on the mobo but no bleeps etc

What PSU are you running and any way of checking if its providing the right volts by changing the unit?

Could be a power issue.
