I was running ok but decided to take my pc into a shop to get ram clocked and bios updated and just generally checked that I had indeed built correctly. First shop charged me 73.30 and said they had to set fans at max speed because the control box wasn't working, they did get the rgb synced though. Got it home and it was way noisy, and I wouldn't have been able to tell if the system was overloading or not so I took it to a different place.

They got the control box working and set up iCue and changed the fans on my radiator and it is back to the original sound level, however now my audio isn't working. I went through many forums with people having same issues of audiodg pushing ram to its max and followed the advice of removing audio drivers because supposedly Microsoft updates at the very least would reinstall drivers of some sort, but no there is nothing. I at the time built a super cheap system because it was all I could afford, and I am wondering if it's a hardware issue because I went so cheap.

I am now thinking about changing MOBO, CPU and Tower because I can't afford to keep throwing money away. I can afford to spend 500-600 preferably cheaper if possible and would appreciate some advice. I had always been an intel user until this build and went amd because they're a lot cheaper, but I am wondering if maybe I had of stuck with intel I wouldn't be having issues or at least not so many. :confused:
 
I could get a soundcard it is one option, if it fixes the issue but as the system audio drivers are no longer present and not reinstalling would a soundcard work? And then there is the issue of life, I was told my mobo is already 6 years old and soundcards don't have an unlimited life span so I was thinking maybe an upgrade now to better specs might cost less in the long run. I was planning to upgrade eventually as initially the build was just a temporary measure based on my budget at the time, I just wasn't planning on doing it quite so soon.
 
I downloaded the latest ones and I'm still having issues I lost the nvidia high definition audio device, realtek high definition audio device, and I went to both nvidia and realtek and cant get those back, I redownloaded the graphics card software because the audio normally gets updated with that at the same time but no good, I have even tried a third party driver updater that normally gives updates before the manufacturer but its no longer working for the audio either.
 
I only use the 3rd party driver updater when a manufacturer no longer provides updates like for my monitor. If the mobo isnt that old I don't know why the audio driver for it isn't working anymore, I will get a different sound out device to the headset to rule out my monitor but it was all working fine before it went into the shop. As for the onboard audio in the bios I went into bios settings and it doesnt show audio options anywhere. I am not confident enough to start messing around with the bios nor do I really want to take it back to shops that stuffed it up in the first place.

I managed to get realtek high definition audio back on the pc and I can get sound out of the monitor if I plug my head phones into it but the speakers still won’t work so I am going to get a new monitor. I am still considering upgrading my system whilst I can get things cheaper in the black friday sales I could do with a mobo that has built in wifi and bluetooth, I couldnt add a sound card at the moment if I wanted to because my pci slots are taken up with gpu and wifi adapter

The monitor never went to the shop so volume settings weren't adjusted but I just got myself a 4k gaming monitor so I'll enjoy better graphics. Will keep system as is for now and see how things go. Monitor was older than parts for tower because I bought it 4 years ago and it wasn't new out when I got it. I am hoping that is the problem anyway and not something else.

I am listening, the whole point was to get advice which I am taking onboard, and at the same time trying to troubleshoot my issues. Telling people they are wasting their time asking questions in the forums isn't helpful and pointless it just puts people off asking for advice in the first place.

As an aside, the speakers on my monitor disappear in Windows in roughly 1 out of 10 reboots. A second reboot usually fixes it.


That is not a problem because I suggested you buy a USB (external) sound card.

sorry I didn't realise they had usb ones now, I haven't used one since 2007. I currently am plugged into my stereo using part of my headphone cables. I haven't lost anything getting a new monitor because it's a huge upgrade in graphics for my games. Still not sure what to do if this audiodg thing comes up again though, it had the ram maxed at 100% despite not using any programs, reading about is what led to removing all the audio devices in device manager only I was told that on a system restart windows update would reinstall but it didn't. I just hope it's not an issue with windows because I don't really feel like spending 5 dyas reinstalling all my programs :D
