Looking to get PC together for 1440p 60hz gaming.
Currently have two system and not sure what to keep and what to sell …. or even to sell both.

System 1: i7 3770k,maximus gene v mobo, 16gb ddr3 1600mhz ram, evga gtx 680 4gb, 550W psu
System 2: i7 5820k, asus x99-s, 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram, 2x msi gtx 670 4gb, 750w psu.

Should I just keep the second system , sell first system and 2x 670 and buy decent gpu for 1440p gaming ? Im totally confused what to do :o

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers for that guys , much appreciated. Gonna sell my old system and both 970 cards and see where that takes me. Will most probably go for rtx 2070 as it has more vram or just get 1660ti to keep me tied down till Navi comes out and then revaluate. Only looking at 1440p 60hz high setting....not obsessed with ultra.

You would be better off going for the 2080 for 1440p. I'm happily using a 3770k with a 1080Ti for 1440p atm. Plan on moving up to a new Ryzen CPU when they land.
You think 3770k is still good enough ? Only thing that puts me off 2080 is the prices, absolute rip off for cards that have such high failure rate. Don't you think better to get cheaper (1660ti or 2060) to keep me going till navy comes out. Hopefully Navi release will bring rtx prices down. Wish I got 1080ti when their were at their lowest prices.

Ok I got you !!! Will look at that for sure, just to sell the parts now and see how much I will get to work with. Thanks for your time !!

Ok all parts sold, kept 5820k system and overclocked it to 4.4ghz. I have £500 to spend on new GPU, I take it it's best to wait for Navi to see what it brings and take it from there ? Have kept one of 970 cards so guess can game on that playing old games such as prey.

Yeah gtx 1080ti is great GPU but it just doesn't feel right to spend around that much money on second hand no warranty GPU. Wish I did buy it six months back. Not really looking at ultra, would be more than happy with high setting.

Ok guys will keep an eye out for evga 1080ti in the market and elsewhere. 144hz does sound like great idea, will be upgrading later on in the year.
The thing that puts me off buying Vega 56 is high power usage which makes it very hot during summer and lottery of coil whine. From my understanding Navi will be less power hungry so that makes me want to wait till it's release. 2080 cards seem to have high failure rate so that puts me off them.
Guess keep an eye out in evga 1080 ti cards for now is my best option for now till Navi and 2070ti get released.

Great advise there guys, much appreciated. There are used gtx 1080 EVGA going on flebay for £300, good idea till Navi gets released ? Some of them have warranty left.

Got evga gtx 1070ti FTW2 from flebay, will keep it until Navi comes out and take it from there. Good thing is it comes with 2 year warranty left so at least that will cover it if something goes wrong.
