System for streaming

I have recently had to move my PC into a separate room which means that using it for watching videos or playing games on the big screen isn't going to work. What I was hoping to do is get a relatively cheap system that I can use to stream from my PC to the TV. I'm happy to have my main PC on all the time anyway so I thought it would be much cheaper than getting a whole new system and smaller.

Ideally it would be a small but that is really the last consideration.

I have looked at a few different options but not really sure on the cheapest way to go about it. The budget is around 300 but would prefer it to be lower if possible.

I haven't got the best understanding of NAS but I was hoping to be able to use my Steam library etc as well to utilize the bigger screen. I'm not sure if a NAS setup could do that?

I bought an Intel NUC for this exact same purpose and its pretty good. Its tiny, quiet and powerful enough to stream 1080p without any problems, so would probably suit you too.

I appreciate the replies. The NUC looks like a good idea but also the though of a very cheap and effective gaming streaming setup sounds ideal. I'll have to have a serious think about that.
