Hi i wonder if someone can help me.

My system(spec is in my signature) has suffered from system lockups ever since i put it together.

Over the course of the last few months I have replaced the initial 650w ocz psu with a 850w psu, upgraded the cooler on the cpu.

I have ran memtest on all the sticks of ram and get no failures i also ran the pc with 1 stick at a time over the period of 1 per week..

Ran the pc with no sides on.

Tested the the pc with 1 graphics card.

Installed with both XP and Vista.

non of this has made any difference..

So before i purchase a new motherboard does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanx

So it can't, or is unlikely to be:-
CPU
RAM
PSU
Heat
OS
Crossfire

Which leaves
Gfx card
Motherboard
drivers
BIOS

Have you tried a BIOS update, a different graphics card or different drivers for mobo/gfx?

I have tried both graphics cards individually so i think i can rule them out.
i have also checked ati site daily for drivers so they are kept up to date.
and the bios is also checked and kept upto date.

First: have a feeling you'll get yelled at at some point over your sig (4 lines is the max I think).

On-topic: motherboard seems a fairly reasonable culprit based on the tests you've done. Have you checked the temperatures of your components? Maybe at some point the CPU heatsink wasn't seated very well?

Edit: have you read about the problems with X1950s? Some have issues that cause lockups, but you'd have to Google this or wait for someone with experience of it to reply.
