Ill try to keep it simple. When playing a game after boot up about upto 1 or 2 hours in my system freezes with sound repeating, like stutter but quite fast - this is the most common issue I have.

Sometimes video drivers stop responding and Win7 recovers them. Games normally work ok after, this has also happened when I start playing a HD film using MPC.
Something else that may be related - file transfer over network and internet make a buzzing noise from - I think - the motherboard.

Only 4 things come to mind over this which are assumptions based on other problems and solutions I have found:
1) Problem with Nvidia drivers - I am using Quadro 197.59 although it did this with 191.XX
2) Bad overclock - Not sure how as it passed 20 runs of IBT and I have no idea how long of Prime95.
3) Insufficent PSU - 650W enough for spec in sig? Bought it 21st Nov 2007 from OcUK :)
4) Motherboard dying?
5) ?????

Im at a loss really as I have tried different drivers but it always seems to be the same outcome. Any ideas?

I've rolled back the Nvidia drivers and cleaned out the newer ones so now Im using WDDM 185 .93 -Guessing these come with Windows 7.

Sounds like a TDR. Usually:

Bad or insufficient memory
Insufficient PSU
Unstable overclock of GPU or CPU
Incompatible hardware

Google Timeout detection and recovery, if it is a TDR, its a common problem.

Just had another crash. This time playing music in foobar which is using 5.1 and just about to start watching a youtube video. Nothing stressful at all.

Using Windows 7 nvidia drivers so I don't think its GPU related at all now.

Im lost now.

What I might try is clocking the ram back from 1066 and run it at 800 for a while and see if that helps at all - Its the Corsair Dominator stuff.
Actually Ill run memtest for a bit

This is the exact same problem which I have. It used to be a lot worse when I wasn't using windows 7, and I also discovered my cpu was running really hot. These days I don't get any blue screens but I have a strange persistent problem with Aero and my graphics card drivers. When I install the drivers Aero initializes but after rebooting I lose Aero. I've tried everything, updating bios, running memtest, I'm still stumped.

Do you have problems with Aero too?

Just finished 2 passes lasting 1.5 hours in memtest 4.1
Windows would have normally crashed in about that time - seems unlikely RAM related.

I don't have any issues with Aero like it turning off or anything. Win 7 just seems to work until it crashes out like this.

Edit: Heres the system temps - they were roughly around these figures when it froze last time on desktop:

The only other thing, not sure if its related is sometimes I can see the lights on my G15 flickering. This can happen just after bootup or whilst gaming.
