Hi, I've been experiencing freezing problems during gaming for the last few weeks. My pc just freezes after about 10-30 mins of play.
My spec is :
Asus motherboard: M2NPV-VM
AMD Athlon x2 5000+ 2.6ghz
ocz DDR2 800mhz 2gb RAM
ATI Radeon x1950pro 256mb
Maxtor Diamond max 320gb sata
coolermaster Igreen power 500w psu
I've tried every trick in the book to try and cool my pc including buying a new heatsink&fan for my cpu and a few new fans for the case so my chipset temp is now 38 degrees idle, 42 after gaming, my cpu is about 42 idle and 50 after gaming and my graphics card is 48 idle and 60 during gaming.
these temperatures don't seem massively high to me, and I think i've cooled it quite well.
So I was thinking about if it could be RAM problems:
My Asus motherboard: M2NPV-VM is a micro ATX budget model which states that it supports DDR2 800mhz so I bought 2x 1gb sticks of OCZ of the same spec.
In my BIOS I can only set the RAM voltage as either Auto, or 1.9v. both of which don't seem to make any difference to stability.
Today I set my RAM to dd2 667mhz speed instead and my system has remained stable during gaming. Could the RAM be the cause of my problems?
Bring on Christmas for a new motherboard and case for some good overclocking
