System idle process 70% from CPU and system is slow

I have got win2003 server SP1 installed. Recently I have noticed the system is very slow.

Whenever I checked the Windows Task Managet (Ctrl+Alt+Delete), I found the "System idle process" consumed 70% of CPU energy.

Though I have been using many utilities to disable all programs that start with windows OS.

Do I need to disable some services as well (I am not familiar with this )?

System idle process should be as high as possible when your not using it.

Does that you mean if I used the system the percentage goes lower

Did this start only a few days ago? since you updated? if so check:

As far as i remember it is no related to update.


Have you noticed if there is something abnormal with the "Windows Task Manager" ?

No, I have not.
