I've clocked my I7 to 4.2ghz (which needs 1.305V where my UD5 needed 1.28v) and despite 20 passes of linx and 7 hours of P95 im getting lock ups / freezing when gaming with abit of usb lag to boot.

This rig is really starting to annoy me now :(

Any suggestions please before i ditch this classified board ....

What's the highest speed it's stable at, and what ram are you using (and at what frequency/timings)?

Mine does something similar to this at 4.4, ibt or prime pass with no issues but it "freezes" occasionally in normal use. Screen remains fixed at whatever frame it was showing at the time, mouse and keyboard input are blocked. Need to remember to try ssh'ing into it once it's locked up. I think it's qpi related, though have a suspicion it's actually one of the peripheral settings associated with qpi and not the qpi voltage itself.

I was running it @ 4.2 with 1.28vcore & 1.3v VTT with my old UD5 for over a month with no problems. this one needed 1.305vcore & 1.35v VTT to pass P95 & linx

I'm using corsair dominator 1600 @ 8-8-8-24 (tried 1200mhz & 9-9-9-24)

All components where bought new in december and where faultless on the UD5 but i've had nothing but trouble with this classified including hard drive warnings/errors

Could be a faulty motherboard, but could equally be that the evga reacts differently to settings compared to the ud5 so you're trying what worked before but is no longer applicable. I'm afraid I can't offer anything more specific than suggesting you look at the memory subsystem, as I'm using a UD5 and have never even seen an evga motherboard.

I think i'm just going to go back to a simple board. The bios on this one is enough to give you an headache and i've lost interest lately so i can't be bothered to sit there for hours testing/tweaking.

Cheers anyway :)
