System locks up.

It could be the overclock (voltage may not be the issue) - i would set the system back to stock and run it for a week to rule it out.

If the system becomes stable you'll know that the clock/BIOS needs tweaking or temps perhaps need monitoring etc..

I would also run memtest for a few hours to try and rule out the memory.
 
Ok cheers, also he gets black screen and it comes straight back on, says something like "kernel error / drivers not responding", his got updated drivers aswell.

Well "Kernel" could be referring to Kernel Memory. You should definitely run memtest.
