System no longer powering on

Hey All,

Have a problem with a machine I built last year (all parts from OCUK).

Last night I was playing a game - opened another application and the whole PC just powered off.

Tried the power switch and nothing happened. Had a look inside and the mobo light was also off.

Swapped out the kettle lead and still nothing.

This morning I flicked the power switch on PSU a few times and as if by magic it powered on! Shutdown the PC to see if it restarted - nope! Tried both cables again and tried flicking the power switch a few times and just had no power at all.

Does this sound like a PSU issue? If so, would I contact OCUK or would it be best to go straight to the manufacturer?

Yes sounds most likely like PSU is dead.

If its still in warranty (usually 1 year) then contact the manufacturer with the serial number.

(If you have another PSU lying around, it would be best to test first)

Thanks for the quick replies - much appreciated!

I shall try testing the PSU today with the paper-clip method - unfortunately it's just gone over the year warranty period so unless it's an extended warranty, looks like I may have to fork out for a replacement!
