Right i have an old system which acts as my server here is the spec:
Asus Striker Extreme 680i SLI
Intel Core2Duo E6700 skt-775
4 x 2GB Corsair 800Mhz C5
4 x 1TB Raid 0+1
1 x 320GB OS
XFX 8800GT 320MB
Coolermaster Silent pro 700w
The other day i had no display so hard reset it and powered it on again, the system lit up as usual but no hdd leds flashed and no post or display.
After trying a few things i decided the mobo had finally given up the ghost so swapped it out with a spare abit in9-32 max (Same chipset 680i).
Powered on and everything lit up then turned off????
I thought maybe a bad gfx card so swapped that out with another identical card.....no fix same problem....
Thought maybe PSU so plugged the psu into a psu tester but all lit up and seems to be working fine.
Took all the ram out but 1 stick....no fix.....
Is it possible the CPU has died, i have never had a cpu die but what happens if a cpu is dead would it match my symptoms?
Plugged everything in
