For the last month or so my PC has been on the blink, the problem is when I turn it on the whole thing powers up but then turns off automatically after 2/3 seconds, after another 2/3 it will automatically power itself up and repeat the process till I hold the power button to shut the whole thing down.

After I few rounds of this it normally would eventually post and be fine for the rest of the day untill the next morning when I would have to start the whole process again.

I've tried a number of different PSU's, tried with all individual stick of RAM in all combinations, unplugged all cd/dvd, hdd's, floppy drive, removed all pci cards, tried with GFX card out, replaced battery on MB etc etc. Tried most things, only conclusion I can come up with is MB failure.

Looking at my spec below, I would like to replace MB and GFX firstly, then maybe CPU post christmas after all the presents are bought etc etc, quite happy with my RAM at the moment, I dont think my PSU should cause any problems either.

Thing is I prob havent bought anything since my 2900XT and there's a lot of new stuff I dont know a lot about, especially with the choice of MB's now, future proof would be nice, but seeing as my last spec lasted over 18 months something similar to that length of time would be great.

Any suggestions are more than welcome

have you put the system back to stock speeds and tried it?

i had to put my 6300 back to 3.0ghz from 3.2ghz, and its rock solid stable again.

Personally i recommend the P5Q3 Deluxe (mainly coz that's what i have xD)
The P5Q Pro is also a top notch board too,As for G-Cards,If your a gamer and have the cash get a 4870 or a 4850 both cards are amazing for the price :)

I'm sure a lot of other peeps will comment on diff things (each to their own though really)

How does the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard fair anyone?

Only reason is I liked my 965p and I'm fimilar with the board....

Gfx wise I'm prob gonna go for the Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4870 "Golden Sample" 1024MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail
