Hey all,
Currently looking to upgrade my system because it's getting to the point where things are starting to take it's time the loading and renders certain things.
My main aspect of the computer is gaming (WOW/FPS) and video editing with a little 3D modeling.
Current Steup
CPU/Mobo: AMD Althon 64Bit 3200+ // LAN Party ULTRA-D
Ram: Geil 1GB 2x512 Dual Chan
GFX: Sappire ATI Raddon HD570 Link
PSU: Cool Master 650w Link
HDDS: (Believe all 7200rpm) 1TB / 80GB / 120GB
Monitors : 19" CRT / 19" TFTd
-------------------------------------------
Before I post my spec on the new machine I'm looking at... I believe, I hope I can keep the GFX for now along with the PSU. Will proberly keep the 1TBHDD but possible to look for a new faster HDD?
i5/i7? I was hoping to get the i7 950. But looking at the performance different I think, as I won't be putting it under much pressure the i5 performance should be ok for my needs. Around 80£ cheaper aswell.
For the case, personally I like the look and think it's future proof if I want to upgrde again and looking at the reviews the cable management and sound (quiet) is really nice to. Though if someone recommends one for a great value with looks and good cable management as I like to keep things neat then please do so
Water cooler block again, heard some good things about the cooler and would be thinking to stick another fan on the other side to improve the air flow. Possible to replace the current fan as I heard it's on the louder side.
Motherboard and Ram going by the reviews etc
so the only real things I think I need to help the system and be a little better and more enjoyable with the speed is the hard drive and possible different ram or maybe lower the case and upgrade on the grahpics card which personally I rather upgrade that on a later date as I not long got it because my old one went funny.
I'm thankful for all the people that take to read this and help.
Rob/StaR
Hope you had a good Xmas and new year
Thats a things aswell, the new sandy bridge... I'm thinking thats going to be a little £££. Hoping the other will come down a little, although I doubt it.
Once again, thanks
