System Overclock & RAM amount

I don't see why not. A pair of sticks are preferable to having four sticks installed.

If you are going to be gaming you will need to change the graphics card as the 430 is a useless card for gaming.

I'm interested in buying the following system:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-176-OE

but with 8gig instead of the 4gig Ram advertised.

Will the same overclock be achievable with the following ram:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-295-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517
?

If not why and what would be possible?

Thanks in advance!

Yes i would like to know also as i want 8GB in my system , but was told if add 8GB i would loose the overclock ? i might ring OC tech to ask

Only grab 8gb if you intend to run 64bit or it won't be useable. Ram has much less emphasis when overclocking with sandybridge as your only raising multiplier to the cpu which is no longer tied to ram. So you won't be overclocking the ram per say seeing as a base clock, bclk of 100 is recommended. Going above is generally not recommended and as such the ram will not be overclocked at all. Doesn't matter if it is 2 sticks or 4 sticks due to this very reason. I have a friend running an overclocked i5 2500k who had 2 sticks or ram, then added another 2 sticks of the same ram again and it didn't alter his overclock stability at all.

Also bear in mind that the vengeance ram could get in the way certain coolers, depending which one you go for, and you are also paying a small premium for cas 8 ram, around £40 extra, and it will make little impact on system performance over cas 9 ram. Each to their own though;)

You still going for "Titan Spinosaur" Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz ? looking at reviews someone has added extra 4GB with no problems :D
