System Preferences will not open?

Hey Guys

Turned on the computer last night for some music listening, plugged in my usb headphones and hoped to change the sound preference to the Plantronics headset.

Nothing.

It bounces with the spotlight underneath but nothing appears?

Any idea of what I can do?

I tried deleting the preference.plist amongst others? - This was something I read from a quick google search?

Any other suggestions?

Um, like....10 seconds after that post? I errr realised the window was on my other display (TV) which was switched off.

Feel free to call me silly names.
