Hi all.

I seem to be having a little problem, or I think it is anyways I.ve been experiencing random system shut downs, one minute I am doing whatever I am doing and the next OFF!

So I am just trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Now obviously it could be a number of things power supply, memory etc...

However after firing up 'Riva Tuner' and looking at core/mem, freq/Temps, it's telling me my 3870 X2 is running at 297Mhz Core :eek:which is a bit of I would say:p.

So really just need some advice on how I can determine whether this is accurate and it really is running that slow or its just Riva, CCC says 825Mhz in the 'Graphics Hardware' section, however I don’t no if that’s just a reference sheet or readings taken by the driver suite on opening?

Also to kind of back this up as the core problem (I hope) running 3DMark06 turns up some surprising results E.G some of the tests display nothing but a black screen, but the 3870's fan spins up like it’s still doing the test.. However if I run the tests individually sometimes they will display and others I’ll get the black screen. (Tests affected include Pixel Shader, Simple & Complex Vertex, and the Triangle tests) As a side note I am not experiencing any artifacts on the tests, or in games that I can see but i am guessing a slow core would not show any, but could still course system instability resulting in shut down.

Right sorry for the long post!
Cheers for any help guys

No one have any ideas? :( If I could use Overdrive everything would be fine as that would give me an easy way to check my Core/mem speeds, but unfortunately I am on a 6-pin/8-pin configuration.
