System problem

Hi guys, I have a really frustrating problem. I'm a hardcore gamer, which means I really enjoy playing all sorts of games. The problem I have, is I can no longer do that, due to games restart my PC. There's no blue-screen error, there's no high temperatures and no warning that it's going to do it.

The list of games that it restarts with are:

Race Driver : GRID
Dawn of War II
Company of Heros
Defence Alliance 2
Call of Duty World at War
Bioshock
Team Fortress 2

Games that are not affected:

Grand Theft Auto 4
Crysis
Crysis Warhead
Counter-Strike: Source
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War + Dark Crusade, Soulstorm and Winter Assult
Red Faction : Guerilla
Half Life 2 + Episode 1 and Episode 2

My temperatures seem to be fine when playing any of the games I've listed, Idle my processor is at 37c and my graphics card is 39c
When playing demanding games such as GTA4, my graphics and processor go into the 50's which is pretty much expected.

System specifications:

AMD Athlon64 x2 6000+ @ 3.11Ghz(Default clock)
Gigabyte GA-MA78G
4GB OCZ GOLD PC2-8500 1066mhz
XFX ATi Radeon HD4850
OCZ GameXtream 700w
Windows 7 64bit

Sorry to drag this post out, but I've decided to give as much information as possible so I can hopefully receive the correct reply as soon as possible.
It started to happen about 6 weeks ago with GRID. It didn't start straight away, I managed to complete the career seasons and I was just messing around on the practice area attempting to break all the world records. Then my PC started to restart its self. So I assumed it was an issue with the game that it was causing problems with my PC, so I stopped playing it. Then it started to happen in Bioshock, when I needed to use a "U-Invent" machine it would just restart as soon as I clicked to use it. Then Dawn of War II started to get affected, I managed to complete the campaign with no PC problems at all, then playing the game online, it decides to restart its self.

Now it's not letting me play any of the listed "PC restarting" games above for any longer than 25seconds after I start playing it.

I apologies for the long winded article, but this is frustrating me more than my misses not putting out(joke). Any idea's?

I might be shooting in the dark but my first thought was memory. Maybe different games reference memory allocation differently and you have a bad stick.

Maybe try with just one.

Like I said I could be p$£ing in the wind. Will post more random Ideas as I have them :D

Try using memtest on your memory.

Check your HD for errors too.

Certainly nothing wrong with your temps thats for sure. You could also try seeing how it gets on through 3dmark vantage.

Just noticed your OC'd, you could also try going back to stock settings to see if that helps.

May as well rule out the obvious stuff first.

The overall fitness for this drive is 97%.
The overall performance for this drive is 97%

That's my hard drive test results, from speedfan if that helps :/

The two things I would start with are removing all but one stick of memory & then trying the games you listed, Of course they will be slower with just 1 stick but we are looking for an error not speed.
Second thing would be ease the load on your PSU by unplugging some hardware to see if that helps, If it does then obviously your PSU is not beefy enough or is dying, Doubtful though I'd definitely suspect a dodgey stick.

Yeah I'm going to do some testing on my ram later when I get home from town, just on my way out. And Fred, you are correct, they do come retailed as "3GHz" but for some reason, when I set my PC up, it was defaulted at 3.11, so I'm guessing I got a lucky chip :p lol
