Guys i have been haveing nothing but problems ever since i installed this Nvidia 8800GTX in my system.......

the errors are programs just crashing for no reason and a lot of bluescreen stop errors.

I underclocked all my hardware to stock and its doing the same thing
i tryed to figure out what was the cause... i ran memtest and did a loop of test 5 and 6 and no errors. *hardest stress test, test*

I then looked at my PSU....

and the rails are kinda lowish im just wondering could this be why all my problems are happning even though i thought a OCZ 700W Gamextreme PSU would be enough for 1 GTX...

at idle these are my rails:

3.3v = 3.25v
5+v = 4.85v
12+v = 12.22v

now to my understanding the graphics card is useing my 12+v right and it looks fine ???? so why the low 3.3 and 5+vs ??????

what could be sucking the life from those
what do those rails use ?

also when i swaped out my ati card for this card when i first powered up my psu shutdown when i powered it and for about 10 minutes it kept on doing the same thing it was like it was sucking the life out of the psu,,,

then i finaly got the system up and running with pure luck and ever since its been constently bluescreening and crashing on programs....
and when at stock its being doing the same thing.. its weird becuse this psu should take the load, it took the load on my ATI card that had before it and worked perfectly but then again becuse of the huge power requirements of these g80s the psu could have gave in or the psu could have been weakened with the ati card but worked and then finaly it couldnt take the stress of the g80...

Dismantle everything and put everything back together again?

does anyone have any idea what the 3.3+v and 5+v lines are for ?

those values reported above are from in the bios...
here is what they are when windows is up and running.

3.3+v = 3.22v
5+v = 4.84v
12+v = 12.02v

i think there is enough power in the 12+v but 3.3 and 5 are really low arent they...
could those cause problems being that low ?

Dude heed my advice, sometime when people just put in new component it hits an electric circuit or something forgot what its called. best is u dismantle everything and re-assemble it. it wont take u ages to do that.

So far i havent had a problem and all i did was change the DDR sticks to both orange slots instead of the yellow ones.

if i still get problems i will dismantle but i want to hold that as a last resort..

It seems that you have been having this problem for quite sometime now.

yup.... so far so good no blue screens or errors

just played dark messiah might and magic @ 16Qaa and 16Qaf for over 1 half hours lol

shut the game down and 40 minutes later on the desktop still no blues or reboots...

im fingers crossed that it was incompatibility with ddr sticks in wrong slot for nvidia cards.

can a change of graphics card impact the performance of your motherboards ddr slots ? lol

yup there back...

looks like im going to have to rebuild the system,
i seem to be getting USB errors aswell
on some of the blue screens the files that are on there are usb ones...

im going to phone OCUK on monday and see what they think if the psu needs replaced...

or the graphics card ect..
