Hi for awhile now I've had this problem where on random occasions my system will make this strange sound followed by a beeping noise.

I removed the systems speaker to check if it was coming from that but after removing it, the sound still persists. One thing I've done is check my hard drive with the Seagate tool program to test for errors but it pasted that, so I really don't know what the problem is.

I'm hopping someone on here might know how to fix it as this is driving me mad.

Here is a image of a test I've done on my processor and graphics card;

System Info;

Intel i7 2700k
Nvida 580 3gb
Corsair vengeance 4gb x2
Corsair 850w psu (looking to change this)
Seagate 2tb hdd
Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.A 140mm CPU Cooler

Is this beeping occurring whilst Windows is loaded and running or during bootup bios stages?

Can you explain the "strange sound" in more detail and how many beeps and beep pattern?

If you have removed the motherboard speaker then it is a little strange but need more info...

hummmmmm... well I was thinking that it might be coil while but when listening to that sound file I'm pretty sure it definitely isn't. The sound of the beep also doesn't sound like a motherboard piezo speaker (and you have confirmed you have removed it).

Are you running the system off a UPS box between the mains and the PC? UPS's make similar beeps to the one you are getting.

It could be your hard drive making the sound, indicating that it might be dying (similar sound to this can be heard on older hard drives when the read/write arm motor resets itself) but I honestly don't think it is this, and as you said you have run SeaTools which indicates it is all ok.

Lastly I thought perhaps it could be your PSU, but I am not aware of Corsair PSU's ever emitting beeps and googling it seems to confirm this.

It's a tough one for sure, perhaps someone else will chime in with their thoughts.

Just an update, early I took of the side panel of my case to try and locate where the sound was coming from, but when it happened again I wasn't quick enough to locate it as wasn't near my computer.

But I pulled my hard drive out and replaced it back into the hard drive bay and now the computers been running for around 6 hours and the beeping hasn't occurred, so it might me the hard drive making it.

Thing is my warranty runs out on the hard drive next month so do you think it's worth contacting Seagate and explaining this to them and see if I could get a fix or replacement?

P.s. I forgot to mention that when the system is shutting down, right as the power turns off there is a slight beep to, this is also with the motherboard speaker removed.
