hi, my mate had a fuse blow in his house on the wall sockets, after he fixed it, he switched his computer back on he got the usal black screen asking if he wished to restart normally or safe mode etc,
it doent matter which option he he selects he just gets a screen c:\windows\sytem32 and the computer just keeps rebooting , can anyone help

Sounds like the disk or some essential file on it might have become corrupted. In safe mode does it reboot after naming a specific file its trying to load? If so you might be able to take the disk, put it in another machine, and replace that file. If worse comes to worse you might have to do a repair installation of Windows. This would replace all the OS files but keep your documents intact. Programs would need reinstallation if they had any entries in the registry though.
 
You could try using the win xp recovery console on the disk and doing a fixboot command. It sometimes fixes problems
