I've been out of the custom PC game for a few years now but my now ancient Q6600 system is in dire need of a refresh. I have a decent enough case, an 840 SSD and a PSU, the PSU I'm not sure about, its a Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 750W. I certainly need a new mobo, CPU, ram and Gfx card.

I've come up with the following, any advice on where I could improve/save money? I don't want to spend much more than this. Main use for the PC is photo editing and gaming.

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £269.99

Inno3D GeForce GTX 970 OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £263.99

Asus Maximus VII Ranger Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £135.95

TeamGroup Elite Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TPKD316G1600HC11DC01) £89.99

Total 773.41

Thanks in advance :)

Ok, I think I'm sorted with a hybrid of the above

1 x Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K OEM CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£40 OFF** £363.98
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 970 EX OC "Black Edition" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (97NQH6DNB4TX) £275.99

And

Corsair Hydro H80i GT High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060017-WW) £79.99

I think that should be a pretty fast and cool system :)

Does that look ok then?

Quick update, I was away last week but this was all waiting for me when I got home.

So now its built, running very quiet, very cool and very fast! Its so much better than my last red hot hoover of a system lol. Now I need to start reading up on overclocking :)

Thanks again to stulid and ThaReaperGuy :)
