Hi,

I need a system for a local taxi office that would alert us a week in advance as to when drivers documents will expire i.e. car insurance, car m.o.t., Pco license etc etc..

Also the system should enable us to enter new drivers as and when they are employed..

My question is what software would you use to set this up? Bearing in mind the alert aspect is crucial?

Please advise comments

A simple Excel spreadsheet would do the trick - use conditional formatting to make the cells red if one week before expiration date?

no need for any fancy app ;)

Or an Access database for all the driver info, along with a report you can run once a day/week to show whether expiration date is near..

im crap with access, but it would great to do it in that app...

how easy would it be to setup..

you could even have a form to enter new driver data etc..
 
It would be pretty easy to use Access and make a few reports. I'd recommend having a mess around with it and seeing what you can do.

There should be a few tutorials that will show you how to use various features of Access. There are also a number of books that are available that will teach you about Access, I find books quite handy as I can take them with me when I do not have an internet connection and accecss to the online tutorials.
